Mr. Ronny Harpe is the Director of Mission Critical Communications at the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency. He is responsible for the Swedish Emergency Network, SWEN – Sweden’s national mission critical communication services for public safety and emergency management which includes RAKEL, the Swedish Government Secure Intranet (SGSI), and Web-based
Information System (WIS).

In his role, Mr. Harpe oversees the operation and development of secure communications solutions that support collaboration between police, rescue services, healthcare, defence, and other critical actors. His work focuses on ensuring reliable, resilient, and future-proof systems that strengthen Sweden’s overall preparedness.

Mr. Harpe is head of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to modernize the national mission critical communication network and prepare for next-generation services based on 5G technology. By working closely with national and international authorities and partners, he contributes to building robust and secure communications capabilities that are essential for effective
crisis management and national security.

Mr. Harpe has been at the Agency since 2010 and has held different roles within total defence, command and control, IT-, cyber-, protective security and secure communications.
