Major General Wilfred Rietdijk was the Ministry of Defence's Project Director for the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, the so-called Orange Shield, which gave him ultimate responsibility for the military aspects of the security operation surrounding the summit.
In April 2023, he was one of the speakers at the NATO Petroleum’s Committee Conference on Operational Energy. General Rietdijk advocated for the importance of a future-proof energy mix, presenting sustainable options as safe and effective.
