Chief Warrant Officer Mark Veraart (1971, Steenbergen) began his career with the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps in 1995. He specialized in reconnaissance, airborne, and mountain/arctic warfare, with deployments to Kosovo (2000) and Afghanistan (2006), and service within MARSOF. He later contributed to joint capability development as SME Mountain & Arctic. In 2022 he became Corps RSM of the Netherlands Marine Corps, and since September 2023 he serves as CSEL of the Netherlands Armed Forces.
